tsismis for Kapuso star
My sister had quite bugging me on the article she read, where Aljur Abrenica was asked who is his first's. Aljur's clues include older woman, near Cebu, it's the girl's first. Based on these clues, I deducted its Rich Asuncion, his Starstuck co-alumna. Though Aljur is always paired and love-teamed to Kris Bernal , it was reported Rich is his secret gf and Rich is from Bohol (near Cebu) and a year older to ALjur (older woman). Besides Aljur's ideal woman is matangkad, beauty titlist, and morena.
Ate, Go figure!
PS.
Aljur is currently linked to Kylie Padilla
Cocina Juan
Cocina Juan
Early this year my friends and I went to Cocina Juan. We've always wanting to go here because we heard how the food is nice and good. The place is quite small, maybe around 30 customers can squeezed-in inside and outside. The food is ok, friend 1 & 2 ordered cream dori, they liked it but it was quite bitin especially if the price is not that cheap. It was my first time to eat 'dynamite' or cheese stick in a chili pepper (wrapped in a lumpia wrapper and fried). I had the Nicaruguan burritos, the taste was ok but I still prefer Tia Maria's/Cantina burito. Cocina Juan boast of having the flavors of Cental America and the Philippines. Food includes chimichurri, rib-eye steak, quesadilla sincronizadas and burritos platos fajitas.

KFC or Korean Fried Chicken
Left to right: Hot Sun Baked Chicken, Baked Spicy Chicken, Pickled radish
For a closer look, on the box of Baked chicken is Kim Hyun Joon
KFC is not the Col. Sanders that we famously know but it stand for Korean fried chicken, or the Other KFC. Korean fried chicken is similar to Buffalo wings and I had my first taste of it in Seoul in 2010. My korean friend asked me if I like chicken and I said "Yes, I love chicken to the point I might grow chicken wings" (I don't know how I conversed this joke in Japanese-English). It was a little bit late so the store where my friend frequently buy her KFC was closed so we went to another store, which was Hot Sun. So glad that we went to this store since the endorser is Kim Hyun Joon of the drama Boys Over Flowers. While she was ordering I fancy looking at Kim's advertisement posters (thinking that Hot Sun might be popular in Korea, as having Kim their endorser). My friend ask the store clerk to deliver the chicken at her place.
After 30 minutes or more, the chicken delivery came. I was happy to see Kim's picture in the box and said to myself to I had to take a picture. The order was 1 box of Hot Sun Baked chicken, 1 box of Hot Sun Baked Spicy Chicken, 1
Baked spicy chicken flavored in sweet spicy sauce or known in Korea as yangnyeom. Hot Sun boasts this variation of having full fresh vegetable flavor in thirty different kinds of natural seasonings. My best description of this is fried chicken with dukbokki (rice cake). While the Baked chicken is like our regular fried chicken but more flavorable. When I was eating I can't decide which one should I concentrate on eating because I both like it. The picked radish as Zemkichi said it helps in cleansing the palate when the taste feels a lit bit overwhelming.

Carlo's Pizza
For our dinner in Tagaytay, my friends and I went to Carlo's Pizza. We had a great time with the food, I especially like the Spaghetti with Italian Sausage, pizzas (quattro formaggi and margherita), nacho supremo and buffalo chicken with ranch dressing which reminds me of Korean fried chicken (♥♥♥). They used fresh basil for their pasta and pizza, which I love!---now I miss our basil garden :(
Machiavelli Chocolatier
Machiavelli Chocolatier, a chocolate described as an Eurasian fusion which is a combination of European and Asian ingredients. Founded by a Filipino physical therapist in US turned chocolatier, Raul D. Matias.
I was able to sample the Eurasian Fusion Specialty line, if you will bite the chocolate coating inside you will find flavor filling like ube, mango, guava, lychee, coconut etc. Of course aside from their Eurasian Fusion chocolates they also carry Classic chocolates like Praline Nature Bon-Bon Bon, Cashew Nut Praline, Burnt Honey among others.
I' m not crazy about the Eurasian Fusion line (maybe its not just my type of chocolate and its quite expensive). I don't know about their Classic chocolate line because I wasn't able to taste it. But at the end I must say Machiavelli Chocolatier deserves a hurray for a Filipino product venturing into Class A arena of world of chocolates.
Machiavelli Chocolatier can be found on Rustan's Makati in Glorietta 4 and Rustan's Tower in Shangri-La Plaza Mall Edsa. For more information visit their website: http://www.mach-chocolatier.com

The Burger Project
To start the year my friends and I went to The Burger Project (BP) located at Maginhawa St. Teachers Village for some burgers. As featured on a TV show and among foodie blogs BP's style is to create your own burgers, they will give you a checklist of ingredients and you will choose (tick) what condiments (i.e. cheese, sauce, meat, vegetable, etc.) you want to put on your sandwich. The more you add condiment the expensive it becomes. And of course you can name your own creation!
Of course I still prefer my Wham Burger, but BP is a great alternative especially if you're choosy with your hamburger!

Meiji's Melty Kiss
First heard from www.kitchencow.com and was always on the look out.
Finally had it last March 2011. It's like Royce's Nama, creamy green tea cube coated with dark chocolate and sprinkled with cocoa on top.

Churros con Chocolate @ Sancho Churreria Manila
After going to The Burger Project, to satisfy our sweet tooth, we decided to check the churros offered in the next door resto/cafe, Sancho Churreria Manila. My friend E, who studied in Madrid for 8 months, explained that almost everyday her breakfast is a freshly baked churros and how she loved (and longed for) it.
Churros are often referred as Spanish donut but compared to regular donuts they are long in shape and fried (oily it is!) thus becoming crunchy. To be more authentic Sancho has a churros maker (err a machine used in making).
and fyi on how to eat the churros: you dip the churros in the hot chocolate.

Kit Kat Green Tea flavor
When I had my first taste of green tea, it was blech. I didn't like it because of its strong bitter-leafy taste. But after almost 6 months living in Osaka and embracing Japanese culture, I finally acquired the taste of green tea. Now I like (or love?) anything green tea.

tvN's Manny
New korean drama I'm watching: Manny. It's about a New York based man nanny or man babysitter. He's famous (he has a book) as a nanny (he's also like a child psychology/pediatrician--an all around nanny) but because of a circumstance he was left with no money that he ended looking for work and ended up working as a nanny to a single mother of two in Korea (though his problem was solved right away he chose to stay and work in Korea because he wants to help the child). I already watched the first episode, so far I like it.
Manny is starred by Seo Ji-seok, Byun Jung-soo, Choi Jung-yoon
